The random things you find laying around sometimes evoke more than just a pleasant visual image. While I was shooting this, I had a fleeting thought that those flowers looked a lot like the ones on a vase my mother used to own. Other relatives that have seen this, have also mentioned thinking of my mother when seeing this image (without me mentioning it).
Urban Abstracts Vol. I is a handpicked collection my favorite fine art pictures taken in 2018. It was the year where I was really able to come into my own, find my artistic voice and was able to build a portfolio around it showcasing the diversity of this pursuit. Using the ever changing layers of the city, I look for beauty in every day scenes, finding something beyond our perception connecting even the oddest of things together. If we find this common thread that links different things together, we can attempt to capture the tapestry, instead of the individual threads. In way you can say that my urban abstract work, are attempts of portraits of this tapestry, the city.
Most of these are included in my self published book under the same name, however the portfolio itself includes more images. Images that I strongly felt were amazing pictures on their own right, but didn't exactly fit into the design limitations of the book.
