Umbrellas stands apart from what I'm normally drawn to. I've found great unforeseen diversity in the urban chaos, however there are also carefully decorated areas as well, such as comercial plazas. I often go out and take pictures at dawn, so whenever I would venture into these more "maintained" areas, I would find them deserted and not yet open for business. The overall mood of the images obtained in such areas have a "cleaner" feel to them, they tend to be more subtle however elegant in their composition.
In my photography, I explore the city, in constant motion, finding relationships in the oddest of places, all around us. Things that often don't cross our minds in our daily hustle, much less willing to spend hours every weekend on them. Constantly asking what else can things be?
Urban Wear is an extension of my fine art photography, as I explore the concept of the effect a given surface has on an image. I try to avoid printing a phtograph on a different surface just to have my artwork on a shirt or shoe. Instead I seek designs where the image and surface coalesce together and create something unique, different than the sum of its parts. It doesn't work with any image nor on any surface.
The two need to sing when brought together, I only hope you find within this collection something that sings to you as it did to me.
