Scene Overview: of rectangles, lines and triangles.
Phoenix AZ. August 2020.
It all started on my way back to the car. I had seen this when I first got out of the car, but for some reason decided against taking pictures of it. Why? A messy feeling that had something to do with just getting out of the car coupled with expectations of something more “dynamic“. Once I indulged in other things I was ready to stop here, and act upon that original impulse to take its picture. It turns out, it was hiding several pictures that my expectations had almost disregarded. Now that I see them together, I appreciate their calm, subtle but surprising qualities.
Recently I seem to circle back a lot to this teaching: my expectations can get in the way. Something that is resonating in other parts of my life.
I walk away with this question: In what ways the geometry of these pictures interact with the musings that circulate my memory of this shoot?
